Assessment

The first and most important step of any plan of care is a thorough history-focused physical assessment. This leads to an accurate diagnosis which will then lead to the most appropriate plan of management.

Rehabilitation

Often the most comprehensive and difficult plan of care, the acute rehabilitation phase includes tissue recovery, symptom-control, improving range of motion, regaining neuromuscular strength and function.

Preventative

A proactive approach to preventing injuries. It focuses on identifying key risk factors associated with injuries and chronic conditions. Patients under this plan of care do not have any debilitating symptoms. The focus is on improving function and performance to reduce the risk of future injuries or chronic conditions.

Diagnosis

Because the first step in the road to recovery is an accurate diagnosis, Athletic Touch believes in the necessity of arriving at a precise, well-defined diagnosis in a timely manner. To do so, a a comprehensive assessment is always thoroughly performed. This sometimes may be supplemented with diagnostic imaging, such as an x-ray or ultrasound, depending on the patient case.

Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy is a form of treatment that involves direct, hands-on treatment focused on restoring free motion and function of soft tissue and joints, and releasing entrapped nerves. Depending on your diagnosis, this may take the form of soft tissue release techniques, joint mobilization, or instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization

Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization

Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) is an assessment and treatment modality that focuses on the neurophysiological aspect of the musculoskeletal system. It uses physical therapy models to help activate stabilization musculature, such as the diaphragm, pelvic floor and core musculature.

Electro-acupuncture

Electro-acupuncture therapy combines traditional acupuncture with electrical stimulation, enhancing its efficacy in pain management and promoting healing. The electrical stimulation can help improve proprioception, reinstate range of motion, and reduce inflammation, providing relief from various acute and chronic conditions.

Athletic & Clinical Taping

Athletic taping provides essential support and stability to joints, muscles, and ligaments during physical activity, helping to prevent injuries and promote proper biomechanics. Additionally, it can enhance proprioception, leading to improved awareness of body positioning and movement, ultimately boosting athletic performance and reducing the risk of overuse injuries.
